Encouraging visitors to the west of Northern Ireland has received a boost with the launch of a new pilot discount attraction scheme.  The scheme called the Visitor Passport 2009 will provide discounts into 27 visitor attractions in Derry, Fermanagh, Tyrone and the Sperrins.

Developed by the Western Regional Tourism Partnership (WRTP)*, the Visitor Passport will offer fantastic discounts including 25% and 2 for 1 offers in attractions ranging from Marble Arch Caves, Tower Museum, Ulster American Folk Park and Tyrone Crystal.**

The Visitor Passport flyer is available to download online or at Tourist Information Centres (TICs) and participating attractions across the western region of Northern Ireland.

Using the Visitor Passport couldn’t be easier. Pick up a passport for Derry, Fermanagh, or Tyrone & Sperrins at a participating TIC or attraction.  Select an attraction, pay full price, which will then entitle you to the discounts on offer at the other visitor attractions listed in the passport. Visiting an attraction earns a stamp, and if you collect three stamps you can enter a competition to win a weekend break in one of the regions taking part in the scheme.

“We are delighted to present the Visitor Passport Scheme, which is a first for the Western Regional Tourism Partnership.  Many of our top attractions are participating and it is hoped that it will encourage visitors, from across Northern Ireland and within the region, to experience our many wonderful visitor attractions and avail of the great value discounts on offer.  We also hope that visitors will consider extending their stay with us which will help to boost the local tourism economy.”
